Well it’s the midseason finale and this edition of the T Dog Report is longer than normal. I won’t spoil it so dig right in.  FYI if you are looking for the controversial pieces they are located in the black section. #blackequation

Andrea: Life as a side piece

When it comes to comedic relief in The Walking Dead, Andrea is “go to” character. Here is a woman who enjoys being the side piece. Even as she holds a picture of The Governor’s family, she still accepts the role of side piece. She also learned that as the side piece she has no authority. It was hilarious to watch her try to assert herself during the Woodbury raid, only to be told to sit down and shut up. But I will give her some props. Andrea is ride or die for her “man”. Either out of sheer stupidity or a lack of any type of self-worth, Andrea is willing to look over EVERYTHING to make sure she is living the life. Zombie heads in a fish tank? It’s all good. Zombie daughter locked in a cage? The Governor was just being sentimental. This woman will make any excuse to stay in Woodbury.

Cash In On Carl

Last T Dog report we had a small section about Carl. If you haven’t noticed Carl is beginning to become a star player in the group. He’s the most level-headed, and has no problem handling the dirty work. He proved himself again by saving Tyreese and Sasha during their entry into the prison. The most important trait about Carl is his mental health. Carl is one of the only members left who has it all together. Being the leader of this group will leave you broken and the only person left fit to lead is Carl. Daryl is a foot solider, Hershel is too damn old, and Rick is broken. The icing on the cake for Carl happens during the preview for the second half of the season. Carl tells Rick to step down as leader(We called it!). I look forward to seeing what type of leader Carl becomes, hopefully he won’t be as heartless as his father.

Axle Keeping It True

Seems like one person realizes that in the Zombie Apocalypse you still have to make time to get it in. Axle is on the prowl and as long as you are over 16 he is down. Grass on the field? Play ball! What’s hilarious about the scene with Axle is his conversation with Carol. During their conversation he explains that he wasn’t trying to hit on her because he believes she is a lesbian. If you pay attention during the conversation you can see that Carol is upset that she isn’t being hit on. It isn’t so much about Axle getting at Hershel’s daughter more so than Carol being passed up for the young meat. I bet she grows that hair out next episode.

Rick Ain’t Shit

Rick continues to treat people any way he deems necessary. I find it very interesting Rick treats Michonne like shit but will treat EVERYONE else like he has some sense. Rick talks to Michonne any kind of way. I’m not going to give this fool anymore time on this report.

Glenn Becomes a Man

I caught some flack last week from a couple of readers for not giving Glenn his props. Let me take a time out to give Glenn the slow golf clap. He did man up last week, and this week took it to the next level by creating a shank from a zombie arm. Glenn keeps this up and he can move up the Totem Pole in the power rankings. The man just needs a poker face. I know it’s hard to keep a straight face when you look like Martin after he fought Tommy Herns, but I need him to stop looking so scared.

• The Governor will now be referred to as Patch Adams
• Michonne continues to cut it close with her curiosity. I thought she wasn’t going to make it.
• Oscar kept his Uncle Ruckus routine until the end. Guess you should have trusted her.
• Anyone else think Andrea will keep quiet about her previous relationship with Daryl and the group?

The Black Section

I know race is a touchy issue for some, so if you don’t like talking about race then you might want to stop here. If you continue, you do so at your own risk. 

I can’t believe they are STILL pulling the same shit after I died.

The Black Equation

If you haven’t learned by now, there is a ‘Black Equation’ and it pertains to any black character who has interest in joining or associating with Rick’s group.

1. There can only be one black person in the group at a time
2. The black person will not have any major speaking roles in the group
3. All black people must fill the background during any major scenes
4. All black males must be rotated on a bi-weekly basis. If a new black guy hits the scene the current black character must die in his place
5. When you die no one will mourn you

Why Are We Always Begging

One thing I don’t like about this show is the fact that the black characters are always having to beg to live. Why are we the only ones who have to beg to stay in a group or for fair treatment? I had mixed emotions having to watch Sasha scream at Carl for some help. I like Carl, but fuck him for not helping. And why does Tyrese have to play “yes boss” routine. Look at how people are treated on this show and the black characters always get it the worst. We are treated like second class citizens.

Oscar

What was the point in bringing Oscar into the group? THEY TREATED HIM JUST LIKE T DOG!!! The man had a few speaking lines, and played the same role as T Dog in the background. Why the hell would you bring in a new character if you are going to treat him like you did the last black character?! And of course the writers threw him away like they do all black characters. If this was any of the white cast members they wouldn’t have received the same treatment. When Oscar “died” they mourned him for 2.5 seconds. And with no hesitation Maggie shoots him in the head. I can’t believe how easily the writers throw away black characters in this show. It’s stopped being funny and has become a slap in the face. Everyone can see how black characters are treated on this show. It’s so blatant how black characters are treated that one has to believe the writers are following the old Jim Crow ideals about blacks in Hollywood.

The New T Dog?

As you might now we have a new “T Dog”. His name is Tyrese and he has a black sidekick named Sasha. Word around the campfire is that he is an important character in the comics. Excuse me if I don’t get too hype because the Black Equation will kick in soon. Tyrese and Sasha will get watered down. He will play the background, allowing Sasha some time in the light. Both will be killed by the end of the season. The only saving grace is that Tyreese starts with a T. I wouldn’t be surprised if the group calls him T Dog. I’m sure they all look the same in the background to the rest of the group.

Mid Season Wrap Up

For a while T Dog was just a running joke. Everyone loved to laugh about the treatment that T Dog was getting. But after he died something happened. The joke stopped being funny. It was cute when it was just one person, but when it seems to be happening over and over it stops being so funny. The Walking Dead is a great show, but you can’t help but notice the way black people are treated on this show. I’m sure some people are going to get upset, but that’s the way it is. I’m black, so when I see black people on the show I’m going to take notice. I notice how they are treated and it is the reason behind the T Dog Report. To give us the shine that we aren’t going to get anywhere else. I don’t watch The Talking Dead, but I’m sure Chris and the gang aren’t discussing the black plight. It’s been a wild season thus far and I hope the second half keeps up the pace. 2 months is a long time but if the previews are any indication it will be worth the wait.
