This week Rick and The Governor decide to engage in a verbal circle jerk, Andrea continues to suffer from her bad choices, and Glenn gains some respect All this and more in this edition of…The T Dog Report.
A Two Minute Conversation
There was no reason for this episode to revolve around a two-minute conversation. We spent the entire episode wondering what would happen between Rick and The Governor only to realize their was only one conclusion: war. This was a situation where neither person wanted to show their hand. There was no need for the storytelling or The Governor’s to remove his eyepatch. In the words of PeeWee from Bebe’s Kids
Y’all going to scrap, or give a hug?
Rick…Definition of a Snake
Rick is a bully, a man who will prey on the weak. Whenever Rick feels he has the upper hand he will act as disrespectful as possible. We’ve seen it with Michonne, Tyreese, Oscar, and countless others. But when Rick feels threatened he bitches up. The Governor is clearly a threat. He’s tortured Glenn and Maggie, killed group members, and destroyed the fence around the prison. When you compare “crazy” The Governor is in another league. Rick had multiple opportunities to kill The Governor during their conversation. He could have shot the man when he appeared from the shadows. Rick knows the man wants the group dead, yet he negotiates. Why didn’t he pop off at the mouth like he normally does? Where were Rick’s threats? Normally Rick is the aggressor, yet when faced with a serious threat he becomes timid.
Near the end of the negotiation The Governor finally lays his offer on the table. Give up Michonne and the group can live. Of course we know that The Governor is lying, but Rick actually contemplates giving up Michonne! This woman has put up with his shit, saved every member of the crew, and has complied with every request. Last week she even put her life at risk to save his son. Yet, all of that means nothing to Rick. He is a man who will lose his moral compass in the face of adversity. Rick acts like a man who can make the hard choices, but it’s a front. Rick doesn’t make the hard choices, he makes the choices that require him to do less work. It would be easier to give up Michonne than to protect her. Just like it was easier to let The Governor walk away than fight his way out of the barn.
Andrea Reaches a New Low
This week we will sum up Andrea’s activities with a video.
(*1:27-1:37mark)
We also learn that Andrea’s betrayal stems further than we thought. The Governor knows that Rick’s baby may not be his. Andrea has engaged in the art of “pillow talk” and The Governor tries to use the information to his advantage. Had this been “real life”, Rick would have put two bullets in Andrea’s head for running her mouth. Andrea has crossed the line of no return. Even if Hershel wants to save her, Rick won’t allow it. She’s going to have to take a bullet or lose an arm before she is welcomed back in the group.
Glenn Steps Up
I’ve never been a fan of Glenn, but I have to give props where they are due. Glenn finally decided to stand up for himself. He fought Merle and was able to patch things up with Maggie. Not only was he able to win a fight but he was also able to get laid. If he keeps this up he might finally get some respect.
Next Week’s Predictions
- It’s almost time for another “Token Transfer”. Look for Michonne to be killed or leave the group.
- Andrea will get Tyreese and Sasha killed
- Carl will finally murder someone
- Andrea’s betrayal will finally catch up to her (she’ll either be killed or seriously injured)

I don’t think Rick will give her up…He knows the Governor was lying about not killing them all. I think Andrea chose to stay in Woodbury & earn her way back into the group by being their “Inside Man” so to speak.
