Android 4.3 Update And I Don’t Care

This morning as I was posting some pics to the Tumblr page I stumbled across a post from The Verge. According to the post Android 4.3 is on the way and should be announced today at the Google I/O conference. I tried to get excited about the latest update…I want to be amped for any news regarding Key Lime Pie, the “rumored” 5.0 software update for Android. But when I look over at my phone I KNOW I’ll never see any of those updates. But is that a bad thing? My HTC One X+ is a great phone. It’s fast, has a great camera, and runs all the apps that I need. I have the phone layout like I want with a nice background.

One of the reasons I bought the phone is because it was running the latest Android software at the time. It’s the way I buy Android devices. Pick the phone that has the latest software and ride it out. Continue reading

Social Media Management – How I Cut Accounts

Social Media Landscape

Over the weekend I decided that enough was enough. I had too many social media accounts and some had to go. If you’ve ever been in this situation you know that it can be tough to cut accounts. It’s easy to trick yourself into keeping unwanted accounts. Thoughts of future promises can cloud your judgement. Here’s how I cut down on my network list.

After months of inconsistent use I decided that I wasn’t going to lose much sleep if I delete it. I used the same train of thought for my Google+ accounts. If I haven’t used them in months I wasn’t going to begin using them now so they had to go. When you look over your list, mark off the easy kills. Continue reading

Social Network Woes

This past week I realized that I have too many social media accounts.  How many you ask? Here’s the list:

  • 1 Pinterest (The Grey Backpack)
  • 2 Twitter (Personal and The Grey Backpack)
  • 3 Google+ (2 Personal and The Grey Backpack)
  • 1 Facebook (Personal)
  • 2 Facebook Pages (The Grey Backpack and Previous workplace)
  • 2 Instagram (Personal and The Grey Backpack)
  • 2 Blogs (The Grey Backpack/Weddings For Guys)

It’s amazing how many sites you will have under your care if you aren’t paying attention. Now that I have the list it is time to restructure my social media strategy.  As I make changes I will post details about the new strategy. Stay tuned.
