3 law enforcement agencies receive grants to help pay for overtime activities


Amarillo, Texas (KFDA) – TxDOT announced that three more law enforcement agencies will receive grants to pay overtime.

Law enforcement agencies are Potter County, Borger County, and Moore County.

Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grants reduce speed-related accidents, drunk driving, non-use of occupant restraint systems, traffic violations at intersections, and enforcement of state and local regulations over mobile phones and text devices Helps fund overtime work dedicated to .

The grants that these three groups are using help local law enforcement enforce driving while intoxicated (DWI) and the statewide “Drink.Drive.Go to Jail.” program.

These projects will carry out quarterly enforcement actions during the next vacation period.
