Houston, TX (KTRK) — The Houston ISD has canceled all after-school activities on Tuesday due to inclement weather. Severe weather can lead to flooded streets, gusty winds and strong tornadoes.

Dear parents, if your child is participating in sports or clubs and you plan to pick them up a little later, we recommend that you make other arrangements as those activities are no longer taking place. increase.

As for ejecting students from schools early, the only school district that has made the decision to do so is the Liberty ISD, which said all campuses will release students at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

“Severe weather conditions with high winds and possible flooding are possible at normal release times this afternoon. The safety of our students, staff and community is always our top priority,” the district said in part.

The Klein ISD has announced a shelter-in-place, moving all students and staff inside the building.

Katie ISD is also under shelter-in-place protocols, according to an email from the district.
