The Supreme Court’s Appellate Division has passed an order that Quader GM is currently unable to conduct political activities as chairman of the Jatiya Party (JaPa) in accordance with the party’s constitution.
A three-member appellate bench headed by Chief Hasan Foyez Siddiqui passed the order on Wednesday.
However, by January 9, the Board of Appeals has ordered disposition of the lower court case pending on this matter.
Tribunal Sayed Ahmed Raja appeared for Ziaul Haq Murida, the suspended leader and former lawmaker of the Jatiya Party, who filed a lawsuit against GM Quader, and attorney Sheikh Shirajul Islam Represented GM Quadel.
On November 30, Judge M Enayetur Rahim stayed the High Court’s order and allowed GM Quader to carry out his duties.
On November 29, the High Court cleared the way for GM Quader to carry out his duties as chairman of the Jatiya party by suspending the lower court’s embargo until January 3, pursuant to an amended petition.
Ziaul Haque Mridha filed a lawsuit against GM Quader on October 4th.
On October 30, the First Court Judge of the Dhaka Joint District Court issued a temporary embargo on GM Quader’s political activities.
On October 6, several lawyers, including Sheikh Sirajul Islam and Kalim Ullah Majumdar, represented GM Quader in filing a petition to lift his ban on political activity in court.
In his petition, the lawyer also urged the court to lift the embargo on him serving as chairman, in accordance with the party’s constitution, which was dismissed by the same court on November 16.
Quader then filed an amended petition with HC challenging the lower court’s order.
The party’s founder, HM Ershad, died on September 14, 2019, according to the incident statement.
Quader was declared party chairman by forgery at the Council on December 28, 2019, when the warrant petition case was pending in the High Court.
Subsequently, Kader, as party leader, by exercising power in accordance with the party’s constitution, oversaw several leaders, including Ranga, Gazipur Metropolitan Unit adviser Ataur Rahman Sarkar, and organizational secretary Sabul Sikdar. dismissed.
In addition, Ranga was also removed from his post as a member of the party’s presidium on 14 September, and advocate Ziaul Houk Milida was removed from the party on 17 September.
In this case, an order was sought declaring unlawful all dismissals and councils from December 28, 2019 to September 17, 2022, but unless the HC warrant petition was reversed, the party’s next The council of will stay.
