The Bjorkdale Public Library hosts art classes and a hanging basket fundraiser. The rink hosts its first Friday Fun Skate, with hockey and curling teams planning games.
The Björkdale Public Library is hosting art classes with Beth Benz on January 19th and January 26th from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
Participants will create works called “Snow” and “Rocks, Trees, and Water.” If you bring your own consumables, the cost is only $20, if your own he is $30. Please contact the library to register.
The library also conducts fundraising activities for hanging baskets. Pre-order 12 Hanging His Baskets by February 9th. The cost is $40 per basket, with net proceeds going to the Bjorkdale Public Library. Interested parties should contact Ashley at the library at 886-2119.
More than 10 children participated in the first Friday Fun Skate. Abby Van Oirschot is again the leader this year, and it looks like another successful program. The rink is open to the public for her skating and skating every Friday from 5pm to 9pm unless otherwise stated.
The Björkdale/Zenon Park/Arborfield Hockey Team Under-11s will face Kinistino this Friday, January 20th at 7pm. Stop by for burgers and hockey action. The Bjorkdale Under 9 team will face Kinistino on Sunday 22nd January at 11am.
The Björkdale Curling Rink will host the first Curling Bonspiel of the year on January 20th and 21st. To register your team, contact Vern at 873-0450.
Snowmobile trails are popular as the trails now pass through Bjorkdale. At the Valley Inn, many sleds stopped by during the Christmas holidays. Snowmobiles make good use of our area’s trails.
