GRAVETTE — Patrons and guests at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center enjoyed several holiday activities on Wednesday, December 21st.
Those who drew their names to participate in the secret Santa gift exchange in November received their gifts and opened them at 10:30 a.m. Shortly after all the gifts were opened, Mayor Kurt Maddox and wife Dawn entertained the crowd by singing several Christmas carols with Kurt, accompanied by a piano. Dawn and her mother Cindy Betz shared some memories of her Lois Mann, Cindy’s mother, who was a frequent visitor to the center before moving to Florida.
Just before dinner, Center Director Melissa Provence thanked the Maddox family for their performance, Center staff members and volunteers for what they had done for the Center and said, “Without you, there would be no Center. Fran.・Croxdale thanked Provence for his service and gave him a gift from the group.
Christmas dinner was served at 11:30 am. The menu included ham and pineapple, sweet potato casserole, broccoli and cheese casserole, bread rolls, cranberry fluff, and pecan his cobbler.
The celebration of the holiday was well timed. The center was scheduled to close on Friday, December 23 and he was scheduled to close on Monday, December 26, but a winter storm front brought snowstorms and frigid temperatures, so he was forced to close a day earlier in December. Closed Thursday the 22nd.

The Christmas dinner came just in time as the center was closed the next day due to a rainstorm that brought snowstorms and frigid temperatures.
