Columbus, Georgia (WTVM) – With more than 100 state, federal, and local partners, including the Columbus Police Department (CPD) and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the Georgia Community Authority has a joint gang activity carried out the strategy.
The Columbus Police Department will conduct warrant service, Fourth Amendment searches, parole searches, and ties to known street gangs statewide between December 5 and 9, 2022. It states that on-site interviews with confirmed gang members have taken place. The results of these measures are:
- 358 searches
- 175 arrests
- 98 firearms seized
- Collecting some drugs and gang paraphernalia
The CPD and MCSO have teamed up and conducted operations in Columbus for the past five days. The following persons were subsequently detained:
- Tervin Howard
- aggravated attack
- 3 cases of stalking
- Theft by receiving stolen goods
- Possession of a firearm while committing a crime
- Possession of marijuana for distribution
- first degree robbery
- Possession of drug-related items
- Ken Gerald Jordan (legitimate gang member)
- probation violation
- Theft by receiving stolen goods
- Possession of a firearm while committing a crime
- Possession of firearms by convicted felons
- Two charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
- medicine not in its original container
- obstruction of law enforcement officers
- Kelvin Johnson (Verified gang member)
- Possession of a firearm while committing a crime
- 3 counts of firearm possession by convicted felons
- Possession of ecstasy for distribution
- possession of cocaine
- Possession of drug-related items
- possession of marijuana
- Jacory Smith (verified gang memberr) – Probation Violation
- Darrell Harris – Probation violation
- bradley strickland – Probation violation
- Jammer Hardaway (Verified gang member) – probation violation
- Curtis Smith – 2 counts of aggravated assault
- emperor carter (Verified gang member) – probation violation
Columbus Police say the purpose of the statewide operation is to detect ongoing criminal activity and deter future action.
