Washington DC – Today, Rep. Van Drew called for an end to all offshore wind activity in New Jersey after an unprecedented number of whales washed up in the New Jersey/New York area over the past month.
“Since the offshore wind projects were proposed by Governor Murphy to be built off the coast of New Jersey, I am determined to move forward until research reveals the impact these projects will have on our environment and on our fisheries. I have been opposed to any activity to do so,” said Rep. Van Drew. “Marine life is endangered when our Governor and President enforce the Green New Deal policy and fail to fully consider its real-world impact.” From New Jersey leaders and Washington, DC politicians has a complete lack of transparency and plunges into these projects to advance climate policy.”
“Once a committee of the 118th Congress is finalized, I will call for a Congressional inquiry into this matter. We demand that all offshore wind activities be halted.”
