The Mayor, City Council, Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, and staff are pleased to announce the soft opening of Owen Park and Westside Recreation Center on Monday. Owen Park, located at 10245 Owen Drive, includes an off-leash dog area (separate areas for small and large dogs), a large covered pavilion with designated basketball courts, restrooms, There is a pond with a fishing pier, a natural surface hiking/biking trail, and a small pavilion. Located in Owen Park, the Westside Recreation Center is a 30,000-square-foot center featuring a fitness room with free weights, pin select weight machines, and cardio machines, a women’s-only fitness area, locker rooms, two racquetball courts, a bicycle spin room, It has aerobics. Room, Kidz Zone, Gymnasium (lined up for Basketball, Volleyball, Pickleball), Outdoor Heated Pool (renovation to be completed Spring 2023). The annual Daddy Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, February 18th from 6pm to 9pm at the Magnolia Events Center. This dance is for daughters ages 4 and up. Conroe United’s spring football registration deadline was January 20th. Boys and girls ages 4 through her 13 are eligible for late registration until Saturday, January 28th. The cost is $50 for Conroe residents and $63 for non-residents. The league’s focus is on skill development, fun and fair play. All games will be played on Saturday at Carl Burton Jr. Park. The team practices his once a week for younger players, with the option of two practices per week for older players. There are 8 games this season. Jerseys will be provided, but players must provide their own shorts, socks and shin guards. All coaches are required to pass a background check and attend coach training and coach conferences. All players are required to participate in a mandatory skills assessment on January 28th to help staff build even teams.

The cost is $50 for Conroe residents and $63 for non-residents. Your child will enjoy playing flag football that develops speed, skill and agility. All teams practice and play weekly at Carl Burton Junior Park. A game jersey will be provided for the eight-game season. Volunteer opportunities are available for coaches, assistant coaches, and team parents. Coaches must pass a background check and attend coach training and coach meetings. This kid-approved jam-packed adventure for grades 1 through her 6 takes place during CISD’s spring break week at the Oscar Johnson, Jr. Community Center. Trained Fun Quest staff (10:1 camper to staff ratio). Program runs from 7am to 6:30pm. Campers can also participate in excursions and swimming! Space is limited, so please apply early!
