DCM takes stock of developmental activities


Namsai, January 2: Deputy Prime Minister Chowna Mein evaluated various development activities under the Chongkham parliamentary constituency at a development meeting held at ShapawngYawng Manau Ground in Namgo Village, Namsai District on Monday.

Highlighting key achievements for 2022, he said the long-standing demand of the Chongkham Congress constituency for independent ADC headquarters in the Chongkham and Waklo subdivisions has been met by the provincial government.

“2022 has been a great year for Arunachal Pradesh as we have our own airport in the state capital and are able to operate private airports in Pasigat, Tez and Giro,” Main said.

He said there are many big projects like Frontier Highway worth Rs. His 44,000 kroner in Arunachal Pradesh has been approved by the central government, and he has expressed hope that this year will bring many more big projects to Arunachal.

The DCM said the third language was introduced to preserve and promote the local language and asked the DC to devise mechanisms to monitor the process of teaching and learning a third language in schools.

In response to a memorandum of understanding filed by the Gram Panchayat Commission Chair (GPC) of the Emphum, Munglang and Insa Gram Panchayat segments, he ensured that their complaints would be investigated on a priority basis.

“The development of the ShapawngYawng Manau ground in Namgo village with a boundary wall and a playground is a priority,” he said.

Regarding another request made by villagers to settle the district boundary between Namsai, Changlang and Lohit, he said it would be resolved amicably through a joint investigation by the district administration and villagers.

Chongkham ZPM Chau Jenia Namchoom, gaon burahs, youth leaders also spoke.
