On Friday, Amruta Fadnavis released the music video Mood Banaleya. This is her first production in Punjabi in collaboration with Meat Brothers. The video features her Amruta, a banker and wife of Deputy Prime Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, singing and dancing with her co-stars. Within her first 24 hours she had over 15 million hits on YouTube.
Responding to questions about how she handles various responsibilities, including her job as a banker and the role of wife and mother of a politician, she shared details of her equation with her husband. He says their mature relationship is an inspiration to his daughter, Divya.
“Devendraj has never disrespected my work when he was Prime Minister or when he became Deputy Prime Minister. This is a big deal. It naturally leads to the empowerment of women in our society when children see it,” Amerta said in an interview with Marathi-language newspaper Lokmat.
She said, “It’s about the respect we have for each other, that we have each other’s backs. This helps Divija to develop a good attitude towards gender equality.”
Amerta said her husband enjoys her songs and likes to sing them when he hums or plays lyaz at home. “Devendraj really liked some of my songs. In general, he likes his songs on my social because he’s so into,” she said. “He said, ‘This is another side of your personality,'” she added.
Amerta’s songs and appearances in music videos often make her and her husband the subject of social media trolling.
In February 2018, a music video for the Mumbai River Anthem, featuring then-Prime Minister Devendra Fadnavis and then-Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, sparked controversy. In another video from the previous year, she was dancing with Amitabh Bachchan.
But she remains unfazed and is expanding her presence and work in show business.
