The Monroe County Library System offers activities for children during the Christmas holidays.
• Summerfield-Petersburg and Maybee branches offer Christmas break to-go bags. The bag contains activities and challenges your child can do at home.
• Boxing Day Take and Make Kits can be requested from the Carlton branch. The kit includes crafts, recipes and the history of Boxing Day, which is celebrated on December 26th. Call our branch at 734-654-2180 for kits.
• LS Navarre Branch Library at 113 E. Second St has three Christmas break programs. All sessions run from 4-5pm.
“Create Play Snow” is set for December 27th.
Build Your Own Snow Globe will be held on December 28th.
“Winter Wonderland Art” is scheduled for December 29th.

• The LEGO Challenge will be held on December 27th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Ellis Library & Reference Center at 3700 S. Custer Road.
“If you love Lego, you won’t want to miss this program full of fun and wacky building challenges,” said the library.
• The Giant Twister & Board Game Cafe will be held at Ellis on December 28th from 11am to 1pm. Light refreshments are provided. Various games are available, including a giant twister board.
• Noon New Year’s Eve Party at Ellis on December 29th from 11am to 1pm. Family parties, stories, games and crafts are planned. To enroll in the Ellis program, visit bit.ly/elliswinter.
