homebuyer class

The Neighborhood Housing Partnership of Greater Springfield will be hosting online Homebuyer Education classes today and January 17th and 24th from 6-8pm.

This course is taught by NHP staff and local experts. Topics include steps in the home buying process, building good credit, budgeting, home inspections, applying for a mortgage, working with stakeholders, and avoiding predatory lenders.

The Clark County Public Library at 201 S. Fountain Ave. in Springfield is hosting several programs this week.

From 9:30 am today in the Geyer Room, there will be a Little Flower Story Time for ages 2.5 and a Little Bud Story Time for ages 3 to 5.

Hiit to be Fit will be held today from 14:00 for adults. Join Marian Plank (NASM, CPT, CNC) for a free full-body workout that combines strength and cardio elements to a fun, upbeat soundtrack. Please bring yourself and your mat.

Story time for toddlers ages 2 and 3 is on Wednesdays at 10am at the Enon branch and for preschoolers ages 4 and 5 at 11am.

Sweet Stitcher runs Wednesdays from 10am to 12pm for adults of all skill levels. Bring supplies to this club. Offer a snack. The finished product will be donated to a local charity.

expeditionWittenberg alumni connections lead to lessons in history classes

Songs and Smiles Story Hour is held on Thursdays at 10:00 am for adults with special needs and their caregivers.

Storytime for Toddlers and Preschoolers is on Thursdays from 11am to 12pm at our Houston location. Please call to register.

On Thursdays from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, the Park branch hosts story time for ages 2-5.

Lego Club takes place on Thursdays from 6pm in the Guyer Room for ages 5-12.

art event

Connecting Through Art takes place Thursdays at 11am at the Springfield Art Museum at 107 Cliff Park Road.

This free event will connect you with other community members in a casual conversation led by museum educator Amy Korpieski. Included is the short film “Lake Valley,” which looks at how art can be a coping skill.

The event is organized by NAMI CGM (National Alliance on Mental Illness of Clark, Greene and Madison Counties).
