The Highlands Museum & Discovery Center opens on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday.
As the Martin Luther King Jr. March concludes at the First Presbyterian Church next door, the museum offers activities, take-home crafts, and the reading of the “I Have a Dream” speech.The museum closes at 4pm
Admission is free.

Friday the 13th at camp landing

Today, Friday the 13th, the original Friday the 13th (1980) hits the big screen at Camp Landing Cinema.
Cinema will feature Friday the 13th’s ‘killer’ drink, the Mango Cream ICEE topped with whipped cream and a glow-in-the-dark axe.

Work on I-64 at Boyd on two Sundays

Under an approved Kentucky Transportation Cabinet permit, Kentucky Power will rebuild the I-64 utility pole at Mile Point 190.2, just west of the US 23 Carettsburg exit, and replace the overhead wiring.
Work will take place on Sunday, January 15th and January 22nd from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Motorists should plan for upcoming traffic impacts.
• Sunday, January 15, Lane Closed, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM: One lane of westbound I-64 was closed on the west side of the US 23 flyover. Traffic is expected to merge between mile markers 191 and 189. Utility crews can stop traffic in all lanes if necessary, but it is not expected.
• Sunday, January 22, Rolling Road Block, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Westbound and eastbound I-64 traffic between mile markers 191 and 189 will be temporarily slowed and sometimes stopped to allow utility crews will be able to install fictitious utility lines. Rolling roadblocks can occur up to 5 times.
