Cooking for a crowd. Planning a soup dinner, potluck, or other community meal? Cooking for Crowds is an educational program for nonprofits that prepare meals for their members or the general public as a fundraiser. This curriculum is designed to show groups the food safety risks that can arise when cooking large amounts of food and how to mitigate those risks. There is a $15 fee for this virtual workshop. Relax: An alternative to the Rage series. How individuals handle anger and stress affects those around them. Michigan State University Extension will be hosting free webinars on January 17th, 24th, 31st and February 7th from 11:30am-12:30pm to give you an alternative to anger. This four-part educational series of his is designed to help adults, parents and caregivers increase their knowledge of anger issues and practice anger management and healthy relationship skills. Through presentations, group discussions, and skill-building activities, participants will learn what anger is, what triggers it, how to calm down and de-stress, principles of problem-solving, effective communication skills, and forgiveness and letting go of the past. Safe food = healthy children. Learn food safety best practices to keep kids safe in daycare. Food safety education topics covered in this online class include proper cleaning and sanitizing, cooking, food storage, and personal hygiene. Safe Food = Healthy Kids is a Great Start to Quality certified training, so this class counts towards your annual training hours. This class is facilitated by MSU Extension Food Safety Educators.
