Museum activities for kids included in Summer Programme

The Whanganui Regional Museum is a regular feature in the Whanganui Summer Program Guide, but this year the museum is a little confused by offering activities specifically for children.

Over the five days of the summer program schedule, the museum offers hour-long craft sessions themed around creative creatures.

Education team leader Margie Beautrais said the program is aimed at children ages 5 to 10 and all the planned activities are based on the museum’s popular exhibit, Teeth, Nails and Taxidermy. says there is.

“The wonderful animals, teeth, claws and taxidermy exhibits are very popular with this age group. Since the exhibition is due to end at the end of January, we will be bringing you a special program of animal-themed art activities.”

Activities include making animated animal puppets, making animal-themed backpack charms, printed greeting cards, and more.

The five sessions are January 9-13 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Craft materials cost just $2 per child. Reservations must be made directly with the museum and children must be accompanied by an adult. Phone 06 349 1110.
