Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – The National Journalism Conference was held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 24th to review 2022 activities and launch the agenda for next year.

Nguyen Trong Nghia, Party Central Committee Secretary and Head of the Party Central Committee, made a speech at the event. Information Education Committeeemphasized the important role of the press in carrying out the party’s information and education tasks, protecting the party’s ideological foundations, and refuting the erroneous views of hostile forces.

He called on the press to continue to closely follow the party’s goals regarding the management and development of journalism, in particular the direction to build a revolutionary, professional, humane and modern press.

Notably, in its 6th session, he Party Central Committee He also stressed the need for strong application of science and technology while incorporating the human factor into journalism activities.

In her remarks, Vu Viet Trang, director general of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), said that professional, humane and modern journalism The environment should be the target of the revolutionary press in the digital age, because the ultimate goal of the revolutionary press is to serve the motherland and the people and lead the people to humanitarian values.

Journalists must not only comply with legal regulations, but also demonstrate a high sense of responsibility and overcome many objective and subjective barriers to produce worthwhile reporting works, she added.

While the report from the conference highlighted key achievements for journalism in 2022, it also pointed out some pain points.

On this occasion, 32 groups with outstanding achievements in journalism work this year were awarded diplomas by the Party Central Committee’s Information Education Committee, including the VNA’s National News Bureau.
