Panthers vs Cancer is a Knoxville fundraiser that raises money for cancer awareness and support.
Last year, Knoxville was able to raise over $48,000 to help fight cancer. In addition to the varsity basketball game against the Chariton Chargers on Saturday, January 21st, there’s much more to do in Knoxville.
According to Tyler Pearson, the reunion games are scheduled to run until 1:00 p.m.
There is also a silent auction held all day Saturday at the Knoxville Middle School Commons. Just a few of the many items in the auction include signed items from the State of Iowa, UNI, and Iowa. The Knoxville Recreation Center has items you can bid on, the Blank Park Zoo, and more.
Pre-ordered Panthers vs Cancer t-shirts will be handed out at middle school public facilities on Tuesday. His JV basketball teams of Knoxville and Charity play before varsity games.
A small number of individuals who have or are battling cancer are recognized during national team games.
