Beaver Lodge Elementary School

Students and staff were busy decorating doors for Family Literacy Day. celebrate your legacy Themes; the class toured the school and voted for their favourites! A whole school assembly will be held on her Wednesday, January 25th, where students will read in pairs and hear which class voted for the decorated door the most!

Claremont Community School

Students will have a fun-filled week! They will hear from guest readers, dress up as their favorite literary characters, and enjoy reading with invited families on Friday, January 27th.

the class collaborates words that changed my world wall. Using sticky notes, students and staff shared their favorite literary quotes. There is a dedicated bulletin board outside the gym.

Eaglesham School

Enjoy a family day of reading and writing with students on Thursday, January 26th from 2:00pm to 3:00pm. A variety of activities take place throughout the school, and participants move between activities as they please. Due to the unstructured format, parents are asked to stay with younger children.

elmworth school

On Friday, January 27th, families are invited to the school to continue reading silently with their children or groups of students.

Harry Balfour School

Students will participate in a book exchange, winter walk, winter carnival, and a day of dressing up as their favorite literary characters. A special thank you goes to Peacewapiti Academy as her 9th grade teacher and her 8th grade mystery administrator who visits Harry Balfour School as his leader.

Hythe Regional School

All students, faculty and staff are looking forward to seeing you. Dress up as your favorite story character’s day Wednesday, January 25th.

In honor of this year’s Family Literacy Day theme celebrate your legacy, Families are asked to create family crests and submit them to schools for display. Junior high school students are paired with elementary school students to practice reading and writing Valentine’s cards.

Throughout January, 1st and 2nd graders learned and read about Robert Mansch. Pay homage to his character by wearing your favorite costume on Friday, January 27th!

penson school

On Thursday 26th January, families are invited to the school to read with the students. On Friday, January 27th, students will visit the Grand Prairie Storm where they will spend time reading stories. Both events are performed on mats in the school gymnasium.

Rycroft School

Students celebrate Family Literacy Day all week long by dressing up as guest leaders, handmade bookmarks and their favorite literary characters. On Friday, the school concludes her week with Raiders Pride Day, an afternoon filled with fun activities.

Wembley Elementary School

On Wednesday, January 25, students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite literary characters, and families are invited to the school for lunch and to read with their children.

On Friday, January 27, 4th, 5th and 6th graders from the Helen E. Taylor School will visit Wembley Elementary School to read with younger students.

Whispering Ridge Community School

students are their celebrate your legacy Create your passport and create your own bookmark where the winner will be announced at the end of the week. Students will enjoy collaborative stories and a variety of activities such as: guess the teacher and guest readers.
