Remember activities for little one at NCCIL, The Grace

This column regularly features monthly activities, but it’s easy to miss.

I would like to share some more details about some of them. There are some details in the Upcoming Events section below.

A new one I haven’t had before is at the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature in Abilene. It is targeted.

Over an hour, this free program lets kids listen to stories read aloud, sing color songs, explore different art elements, and immerse themselves in art projects. Instructors keep everything at an age-appropriate level.

Another activity for some age levels is the BLANK (Bridging Literature and Art with NCCIL Knowledge) box. Each box contains a children’s book by a noted artist from the past. There are art materials that allow children to create their own works based on their impressions of reading books and looking at pictures in books.
