Republican Plains Activity Conference releases brackets for 2023 basketball tournament


NORTH PLAT, Nebraska (KNOP) – The Republican Plains Action Conference has announced the pairings for the 2023 basketball tournament.

Maywood Hayes Center and Alma earned the No. 1 seeds in both the men’s and women’s brackets, earning first-round byes.

Elsewhere, in the western division of the girls’ bracket. Paxton is the No. 2 seed and will face No. 7 Maxwell. The two teams had faced each other before Holiday’s break, in which Paxton scored his 20-point victory.

Wauneta-Palisade will be the No. 3 seed and will face the No. 6 seed Tigers of Dundy-County-Stratton. Wallace (4) will take on Hitchcock County (5) in a battle for the 4th and 5th seed.

In the East Division of the bracket, Southern Valley are the second seed, facing Bertrand (No. 7). Cambridge are the No. 3 seed and will play Medicine Valley (6). Battles for the 4th and 5th seeds feature Southwest (4) and Southwest (5).

Dundee County Stratton will be seeded No. 2 in the Boys’ Bracket West Division and will face Wawneta Palisade (7). Paxton will be the No. 3 seed and will face Maxwell. The two teams played him on December 16, with Paxton winning his 56-33.
