SickKids took down two websites on Friday after detecting “potential unusual activity.”
In a statement, SickKids said its specialty food stores and the Early Childhood and Early Mental Health Promotion (IEMHP) website were temporarily unavailable beginning Friday at 9 p.m.
Until further notice, specialty food stores will accept orders by email and phone, SickKids said. Anyone who placed an order on Friday will be asked to contact SickKids regarding the status of their order.
SickKids says this unusual activity does not appear to be related to the cybersecurity incident that occurred earlier in December, and that it continues to monitor for unexpected or unusual activity.
“When this activity was detected, we immediately took action to take both websites offline. We are working to get it back online as soon as possible.
On December 18th, SickKids called out “Code Gray — System Failure” after a cybersecurity incident affected multiple network systems.
At the time, SickKids said there was no evidence that personal or personal health information was affected. The incident appears to have affected several hospital phone lines and his web page, as well as several internal clinical and corporate systems.
As of December 29, nearly half of SickKids’ preferred systems are back online. This includes “many of the systems that would have contributed to the delay in diagnosis and/or treatment.”
The hospital said on Thursday that about 50% of priority systems had been restored, including those that caused delays in diagnosis and treatment, but there was no timeline for full restoration.
