Spirit Week Activities Set At Riverbank High

Spirit Week comes next week as students prepare to celebrate their winter homecoming basketball game on the Riverbank High School campus.

The Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned at halftime of the Men’s National Team’s game against the Hilmars Yellowjackets on Friday 10 February.

During the week preceding the event, students celebrate a different theme each day.

Monday 6th February is Pajama Day and students are encouraged to wear pajamas to class. The lunchtime activity is the game of musical chairs.

Tuesday, February 7th is Geeks vs. Jocks Day, when students dress up as geeks, jocks, and wear green. That lunchtime activity becomes a tug-of-war.

Wednesday, February 8, calls for Senior Citizen Day, when students dress up as grandpas and grandmas and wear blue.

Thursday, February 9th is Jersey Day, and students wear the jerseys of their favorite sports teams. Karaoke is a lunch time activity.

The week ends on Friday, February 10th, with Bruin Spirit Day, where students dress up in their class colors. For the elderly it is black. For juniors, maroon. Gray for 2nd graders. Freshmen are white.

The queen and king will be crowned at the halftime ceremony during Friday night’s varsity men’s basketball game.
