KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): An increase in trade activity on the Spinboldak-Chaman road has helped improve trade activity, officials said on Sunday.
Previously, businessmen complained about irrelevant and unnecessary problems on the important spin Boldak-Chaman road.
Haji Mullah Agha Jan of Spin Boldak district said up to 300 commercial vehicles are moving daily on Boldak Chaman road, which imports and exports goods.
He added that up to 20,000 people (passengers and businessmen) travel the critical roads every day.
Referring to ongoing problems, he said that problems sometimes surface, but that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is always trying to solve them.
Mohammad Sadiq, head of the Spin Boldak Chamber of Commerce, said the movement allowed trade vehicles to travel on the road for eight hours, with the remaining 14 hours closed by Pakistani authorities.
He said businessmen always demanded the roads be reopened 24/7, but Pakistani authorities denied their requests.
One of the businessmen, Abdul Waris, said Pakistan was still causing trouble and demanding money from passengers and individuals transporting goods.
“Now the situation is good. Pakistani security personnel have harassed people and caused problems for passengers and merchants.”
Business officials claimed Pakistan had failed to honor its promises to improve trade and economic activity with Afghanistan, but Pakistan has often maintained cordial economic and business ties in its meetings with Afghan officials. promised.
