LOVELAND — Loveland’s Valentine Remail program launched on Monday.
Coordinated between the Loveland Chamber of Commerce and the Loveland Post Office, the promotion marks the 77th annual program.
The remail program encourages people across the country to fill an envelope, address it to the postmaster, and remail their valentines to their final destination. A Loveland volunteer will hand-stamp a special Valentine’s Day girlfriend message on the inside of the envelope.
Over 100,000 Valentine’s Day cards are resent from Loveland each year with special cachet stamps.
The Chamber of Commerce said at a press conference that the deadline for remailing is earlier this year. All international mail must be received at Loveland by February 2nd. All mail to the United States to states other than Colorado must be received by February 7th, and all mail to Colorado must be received by February 9th. valentine’s day.
The Remail Program is part of a community-wide Valentine’s Day event. February also features the Sweetheart Festival, official Valentine’s card sales, exclusive Valentine’s craft beer, wine and coffee, the Loveland Sweetheart Classic 4-Mile Race, and Valentine’s Group Weddings held at the Budweiser Event Center. to a game of lovers on Feb. 14 between the AHL Colorado Eagles and the Bakersfield Condors.
