Winter Activities in Lake Tahoe (If You Don’t Ski!) | Tiffany T.

Lake Tahoe is a place I love to visit, but I’m not a skier. I’m not even a snowboarder. Back in the day, I would never have even considered going to Lake Tahoe for a winter trip. Because you couldn’t find me flying over the side of the mountain. Here are five Lake Tahoe winter activities for non-skiers.

1. Gambling

There are several casinos around the lake where you can try your luck with a variety of games including slots, blackjack, roulette and craps. Popular casinos in the Lake Tahoe area include:

  1. Bally’s: This South Lake Tahoe casino has over 700 slot machines, table games, poker, and a sportsbook.
  2. Harrah’s Lake Tahoe: Located in Stateline, Nevada, this casino offers a variety of slot machines, table games, and a poker room.
  3. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe: This casino, also in Stateline, features over 500 slot machines, table games, and a sportsbook.
  4. Grand Lodge Casino at Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe: Located in Incline Village, Nevada, this casino offers a variety of slot machines, table games, and a poker room.

2. Snowmobile trip

Have you ever ridden a snowmobile? We took a snowmobile tour up the mountains of Truckee. Read about our amazing experience here. The view from the top of the hill was beautiful and so peaceful!

3. Ice skating on Squaw or Northstar

Both links are beautiful and enjoyable experiences. Northstar is expensive but worth it. There are usually additional activities near the ice skating rinks, some with hot chocolate stations, and people watching is always great.

4. Sleigh ride

Horse sleigh rides are available in the Wild Sierra. Gather your friends and family and take in the beautiful scenery together.

5. Snow Park

Jump down the mountain with the inner tube or make a snowman! Lake Tahoe has lots of fun snow parks. One of our favorites is Adventure Mountain Lake Tahoe. The adventure is kid-friendly and has bathrooms. They have lodges for eating snacks and benches. Remember to arrive early, especially on busy weekends, as most snow parks close at full capacity.
